Three radical new live cuts from some of the leading figures in the new underground wave of European free improvisation! The Belgian trio Sheldon Siegel channel the studied, freewheeling experimental spirit of the AACM (they have spent time behind Art Ensemble of Chicago founder Roscoe Mitchell), but rather than lose themselves in fire and brimstone they wisely let the rough fibers of their sound stretch and twist with the breeze, developing deep weaves of tension and rollicking exchanges of joyous sonic banter.
Sheldon Siegel has released several recordings, including two high-profile split LPs with Nate Wooley's Throw Down Your Hammer and Sing and acoustic European drone iconoclasts Razen. These recordings and others are available from the band direct at sheldonsiegel.bandcamp.com
Tiny Mix Tapes says, "Sheldon Siegel’s musicians explore the limitless aspects of each instrument’s palate of texture while finding interesting ways to layer and exploit those experiments on the fly, looking for spaces to fill with exciting new sounds while playing up to their familiarity."
